Meet Our Leaders

Joshua Adam Alfrey (he/him)

President
Advocacy Chair

Josh A. Alfrey (he/him) is a founder of MoreLove and proudly serves as President and Founding Advocacy Chair. In this role, he is committed to uplifting marginalized folks in rural Kentucky. Josh has always sought to be part of something that creates meaningful change in people’s lives, and MoreLove has given him that opportunity.

As a transgender man from a small town in rural Appalachia, Josh brings lived experience to his advocacy. He works to strengthen the transgender community through peer support, education, and shared connection—whether navigating everyday challenges or accessing gender-affirming medical care. He also leads peer support initiatives and co-facilitates groups that provide space for resilience, healing, and empowerment.

Outside of nonprofit work, Josh serves his community as an Animal Control worker, a role that reflects both his deep compassion for animals and his strong commitment to service.
